Multi-modal Data Fusion: A Description
نویسندگان
چکیده
Clustering groups records that are similar to each other into the same group, and those that are less similar into different groups. Clustering data of mixed types is difficult due to different data characteristics. Extending Gower’s metric for nominal and ordinal data is incorporated into an agglomerative hierarchical clustering algorithm to cluster mixed type data. This paper describes the extensions and algorithm.

Robust Multi-modal and Multi-unit Feature Level Fusion of Face and Iris Biometrics
Multi-biometrics has recently emerged as a mean of more robust and efficient personal verification and identification. Exploiting information from multiple sources at various levels i.e., feature, score, rank or decision, the false acceptance and rejection rates can be considerably reduced. Among all, feature level fusion is relatively an understudied problem. This paper addresses the feature l...
متن کاملInformation Fusion and Person Authentication Using Face and Fingerprint Data
This paper describes the integration of face and fingerprint data to improve the performance of a person identity verification system. In the conetxt of multi-modal person authentication, a set of experts give their opinion as a scalar number, called score, about the identity of an individual. A fusion module receiving as input the scores has to take a binary decision: accept or reject the clai...
متن کاملEffective Fusion of Multi-Modal Remote Sensing Data in a Fully Convolutional Network for Semantic Labeling
In recent years, Fully Convolutional Networks (FCN) have led to a great improvement of semantic labeling for various applications including multi-modal remote sensing data. Although different fusion strategies have been reported for multi-modal data, there is no in-depth study of the reasons of performance limits. For example, it is unclear, why an early fusion of multi-modal data in FCN does n...

متن کاملA Model-Based Approach for Engineering Multimodal Interactive Systems
Representing the behaviour of multimodal interactive systems in a complete, concise and nonambiguous way is still a challenge for formal description techniques. Indeed, multimodal interactive systems embed specific constraints that are either cumbersome or impossible to capture with classical formal description techniques. This is due to both the multiple facets of a multimodal system and the s...
